CONGRATULATIONS, your support of the epetition has sent a very clear message from the West Highlands and Islands to the Scottish Parliament. 8555 supporteers signed the epetition in the short space of less than a month. This is a RECORD. The previous most succesful epetition took 5 months to reach 4187 signatures. It is important that we continue to keep up the pressure on our MSP's as they will soon be deciding which Scottish Transport projects they will support for the period 2012 to 2022. The projects being considered will include the new Forth Road Bridge, the M74 extension, the Aberdeen Bypass, the A96 and the A9. It is imperative that the A82 is included in the final list! The cost of repairs and maintenance to our vehicles, particularly the Heavy Goods Vehicles. The present road is not 'fit for purpose'.
